Dehradun, 19 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today launched the teaser and poster of the documentary, ‘The Great Himalayan Rescue’ Uttarakhand, produced under the banner of Parivartan Pictures. This documentary has been directed by Rishabh Kohli and Prashant Upadhyay.
Speaking on the occasion, Dhami observed that the documentary vividly portrays collective efforts and human emotions, capturing the spirit of the Silkyara Tunnel rescue operation which has become an inspiring chapter in the history of Uttarakhand. He also reminded that all the agencies, the administration and local residents worked with unprecedented coordination during the mission. The CM added that, through this film, people will witness the technical proficiency and resilience displayed by the state, symbolising Uttarakhand’s ethos of ‘resolve and service’. He emphasised that the documentary will convey to the younger generation a message of patience and dedication in the face of adversity.
Speaking about the documentary, director Rishabh Kohli stated that the documentary is based on the Silkyara Tunnel rescue operation with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami narrating the story of this historic mission in detail. He explained that the film not only depicts technical challenges and human resilience but also reflects Uttarakhand’s roots, emotions, and leadership. Shot entirely in Uttarakhand, the documentary will soon be released on a major OTT platform.
The release event was attended by Uttarakhand Film Development Council CEO Banshidhar Tiwari, Senior Journalist Anupam Trivedi, Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams, the film’s director, and Rishabh’s father, journalist Neeraj Kohli.
