Dehradun, 2 Jan: The poetry calendar of Jan Kavi Dr Atul Sharma was released at Vani Vihar, here. Story writers Rekha Sharma and Ranjana Sharma shared that in this calendar, Dr Sharma’s poem has been printed over a painting. The beginning of 2026 has been marked in a new and creative way.
The lines of the poem are as follows:
“The doors of poetry
flutter within us
in every storm.
The doors of poetry are never locked.
Even a river can come to the house of poetry.
You can come too.
At the house of poetry,
Friends, consider my poetry as your own home.”
The poetry calendar was distributed on 1 January at Dr Atul Sharma’s residence, along with the dates, to mark the beginning of the New Year. This innovative experiment was shared with everyone.
The calendar was presented to Jagmohan Singh Negi, President of the Uttarakhand Andolankari Manch; Pradeep Kukreti; statehood agitation leader Ravindra Jugran; state movement activist Ram Lal Khanduri; General Secretary of the Senior Citizens Service Committee Pitambar Lohani; Om Prakash Nautiyal; Santan Singh; Sher Singh Rana; former Principal Pradeep Dabral, and several others.
January 1 is also the birthday of Jan Kavi Dr Atul Sharma.
On this occasion, Dr Atul Sharma shared that he has been publishing and distributing poetry calendars for several years.
Poet Pawan Rawat said that beginning the New Year with the depth of poetry is a meaningful and important initiative.
