Dehradun, 12 Jan: State Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ganesh Joshi today met Annu Tripathi, Managing Director of a Goa-based private company engaged in the manufacturing of oil and food products, at his official residence.

During the meeting, company representatives informed the Minister that their Goa-based company primarily produces coconut oil and other vegetable oils, and markets pure, natural oils and health–wellness products under the brand “OldGoa Oils”. These products are widely used for daily skin care, hair care, and overall health.

During discussions, Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi stated that the state has vast potential for the cultivation of coconut, medicinal, and aromatic plants. He directed the present CAP Director to establish coordination with such companies and prepare a concrete action plan to enhance farmers’ income in the state. The Minister emphasised benefiting farmers through contract farming, value addition, processing, and marketing.

The Minister further stated that the state government is continuously working to connect farmers with markets, ensure fair prices for their produce, and create new employment opportunities. In this context, possibilities of signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Goa-based private company were also discussed, with the aim of providing better market access for agricultural produce grown in the state.

The meeting also included deliberations on linking farmers with modern agricultural practices through the establishment of processing units, training programmes, and technical support in the future. Joshi expressed confidence that such collaborations would strengthen the economic condition of farmers in Uttarakhand and provide a new direction to the state’s agricultural sector.

On this occasion, CAP Director Dr Nripendra Chauhan and Managing Director Annu Tripathi were among those present.
