Dehradun, 9 Mar: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Arogyadham Hospital organised an ‘Arogya Nari Samman’ event. Uttarakhand Assembly Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan attended as the Chief Guest and honoured women who have made outstanding contributions to society.
In her address, the Speaker stated, “Women empowerment is not just a matter of one day; it is a continuous effort driven by determination. There is a need to accelerate efforts toward providing women with equal opportunities, education, and self-reliance. The women being honoured today have proven through their exceptional contributions that an empowered woman lays the foundation for a strong society. The government is also working on several important schemes to make women self-reliant, and our commitment in this direction remains unwavering.”
She emphasised that women’s role is crucial in every aspect of society. They are not only the backbone of families but also play an invaluable role in the development of society and the nation. She stressed the need to empower women and encourage them to excel in every field.
Appreciating Arogyadham Hospital’s initiative, she said that such events help recognise women’s contributions and inspire future generations.
On this occasion, women who have made remarkable contributions were honoured with the ‘Arogya Nari Samman.’
The event was attended by Padma Shri awardee Madhuri Barthwal, Dr Deepa Rawat, Dr Prachi Chandra Kandwal, former Dehradun Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, Arogyadham Hospital Founder Dr Vipul Dutt Kandwal, his mother Sheela Kandwal, father Vijendra Dutt Kandwal, along with several distinguished guests.
