Dehradun, 12 Sep: The 90th meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) was held at the Secretariat here, today, under the chairmanship of Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan. Bardhan urged all banks to coordinate with various government departments in providing the benefits of public welfare schemes to maximum number of people. He said that the response time in sanction of loans to be given by banks should be reduced. And loans should be available to the general public with minimum paperwork. He said that the beneficiaries of loan application should not have to wait unnecessarily.

The Additional Chief Secretary also appealed that awareness should be spread so that maximum number of people can get the benefits of schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana. He also asserted that under the annual loan scheme, greater focus should also be given to the farm sector and other primary sectors. He said that the target set under various schemes should be completed within the stipulated time.

During this meeting, it was shared that, in the financial year 2024-25, in comparison to the target of Rs 42,271 crores set under the priority sector in the annual loan scheme, banks have achieved Rs, 16,144 crores in the first quarter, which is 38 percent of the target. It was also shared that the loan deposit ratio of the state in the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25 was 54 percent. In the financial year 2023-24, loans of Rs 386.22 crores have been distributed to 8,539 applicants under the Education Loan Scheme. Till the last financial year, Kisan Credit Cards have been issued to 6,28,881 farmers in the state. Kisan Credit Cards have also been issued to 99,962 animal husbandry farmers and to 1,912 fish farmers. The credit deposit ratio of the state in the financial year 2023-24 is 54 percent.

It was also shared at the meeting that till the end of last financial year, 36,91,048 PMJDY and 7,36,022 APY accounts were opened. To promote financial literacy in the state, financial literacy camps are being organised by R SETI, SRLM, PMKVY NGO – CRISIL Foundation.

The progress report regarding financial year 2024-25 under the loan schemes sponsored by the Central and State Government was shared. It was stated that loans have been provided to 76 groups as against 75 under NULM (Group). Loans have been provided to 36,227 people under PM Swanidhi Yojana. Loans have been distributed to 331 people under NULM (Individual) and 503 people under PMFME.

Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, shared that to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the Reserve Bank of India, a nationwide RBI 90 Quiz is being organised for college students pursuing graduate courses of all streams. The last date for online registration for RBI 90 Quiz is 17 September 2024, 7:00 PM. Prizes will be awarded at every level, starting from the state level. For the national level, the first prize will be Rs 10 lakhs, second prize will be Rs 8 lakhs, and third prize will be Rs 6 lakhs.

Secretary Radhika Jha, Secretary Dilip Jawalkar, Additional Secretaries Dhiraj Singh Garbyal, Anand Swaroop, Rajendra Kumar and Bhagwat Kishore Mishra were also present on the occasion.
