Afghanistan Defence Attache visits Indian Military Academy

DEHRADUN, 1 Aug: The Afghanistan Defence Attache, Colonel Karimullah Karimi, was on a visit to the Indian Military Academy (IMA), here, from 31 July to 1 August. The purpose of the visit was to interact with the Afghan Cadets who are undergoing pre-commission training at the Academy. He reviewed the training being imparted to them and also interacted with Major General GS Rawat, Deputy Commandant & Chief Instructor. He conveyed his appreciation and gratitude to the Indian Army for the positive contribution in the form of military training and administrative support that are being extended to the Afghanistan Army and its officers. He also emphasised the importance of this bilateral exchange in fostering a long lasting friendship between the two nations. Presently a total of 133 Afghan Gentlemen Cadets are undergoing pre-commission training. Till date, 660 Afghan Gentlemen Cadets have passed out from the IMA.
