AICOI holds seminar on Nationalism



DEHRADUN, 17 Dec: The All India Conference of Intellectuals organised a seminar on ‘Nationalism – Role of Intellectuals’ at India International Centre, New Delhi, during which eight dignitaries serving society in their fields were awarded.
Chief Guest Dr S Farooq, who is National Vice President of AICOI, congratulated the awardees and said that nationalism was a patriotic duty. All should work for the development of the country. He quoted a couplet:
Kuch ham bhi banaye tere bigre huye kaam
Ai khak-e-watan tujh se bane hain ham bhi!
RC Dixit, former DGP, Uttar Pradesh, presided over the programme.
Dr Jaspal Kaur was awarded the Punjab Ratna; DK Pandey, the UP Ratna; SK Goyal, Delhi Ratna; Social Activist Jaswant Singh, Delhi Ratna; Social Worker Sonali Sheikh, Delhi Ratna; Kathak Dancer Akhtar Mulla, Delhi Ratna; and Yogendra Chauhan, Delhi, Ratna.
PN Sharma, Secretary General of AICOI, proposed the vote of thanks.
