DEHRADUN, 17 Dec: The Viverly Public School Annual Sports Day was held, here, today.
The programme began with a March Past of all the houses, namely Shivalik, Aravali, Vindhyachal and Himadri, followed by the oath ceremony. School children sang ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha’ and ‘Vandey Matram’. There were colourful races for the junior classes. Seniors ran the 100 mts and 200 mts sprints.
A Yoga Pom Pom Dance and Hoopla were the centre of attraction. Parents participated enthusiastically in the Musical Chairs, and 100 mts race.
Mr Verma (Chairman, Viverly Public School), Mrs Verma (Director, Education) presided over the function. Vindhyachal and Shivalik Houses stood joint first and Aravali House was second. Tejaswani was chosen as the best athlete (girls) and Ravi Prakash, the best athlete (boys). Mrs Negi (Principal), KK Sharma (HOD Science), the staff members were present and helped make the event a success.
