Almora, 19 Dec: As per the guidelines of Uttarakhand State Legal Services Authority, Nainital, and under the guidance of President of District Legal Services Authority, Almora, Shrikant Pandey, and Secretary Shashi Sharma, as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, essay, slogan, debate competitions and awareness camps were organised in Government Inter College Manan and Government Inter College Damdia, located in remote areas, on the topic “Constitution of India”. Along with this, an awareness camp was organised in Government Girl’s Inter College, Someshwar. The camps were started by playing the NALSA theme song, “Ek Mutthi Aasman”. The students present at the camps were given information about cybercrime, good touch, bad touch, POCSO Act, Child Marriage Prohibition Act, Child Helpline Number -1098, NALSA, SALSA, functions of District Legal Services Authority, role of Adhikar Mitra, process of free legal aid, Legal Services Scheme for Workers in Unorganised Sector, 2015, cyber harassment, cyber bullying, Narcotics Control Information Centre, helpline number 1933, POSH Act, NALSA helpline number 15100, LSMS, LAIS, LGBT, etc. The camps were also concluded by playing the NALSA theme song “Ek Mutthi Aasman”. Principals, teachers, Adhikar Mitra Neema Binwal and Neema Kohli of various schools were present.
After this programme, Secretary Shashi Sharma inspected the Legal Aid Centre located in Tehsil Someshwar. She also reviewed the work being done by Adhikar Mitra Prakash and gave necessary guidelines. Shashi Sharma said that by organising such camps, awareness about law and new schemes in the society increases.
