Alumnus Mohd Wasiq felicitated at Uttaranchal University



Dehradun, 13 May: A felicitation ceremony was organised at Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University in honour of Mohd Wasiq, who has qualified to become a judge in Uttarakhand. Wasiq was honoured by the Chancellor of the University, Jitendra Joshi, with presentation of a bouquet and a memento. Joshi said, “We are proud that in this month three students of the university have become judges.” He congratulated the teachers and staff of the Law College Dehradun for creating a competitive environment in the college.

Dean of the college and Pro Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Rajesh Bahuguna said that four students have become judges from Wasiq’s batch, out of which two are working in Assam, one in Himachal Pradesh and one in Uttarakhand. He said that Wasiq belongs to a farming family of Roorkee and he was earlier selected for the post of Prosecution Officer.

In his address, Wasiq said that taking admission in Law College Dehradun is a guarantee of success for the candidates desirous of serving in the judicial service. Apart from the cooperation and education of the teachers here, the guidance of a large number of seniors who have studied here and become judicial officers is also important. He gave credit for his success to his parents and teachers.

Those present on the occasion were Principal of the college, Prof Poonam Rawat, Head, Dr Radhe Shyam Jha, Dr Anil Dixit, Dr Jitendra Singh, Dr Kuljeet Singh, Amit Kumar, Dr Shikha Uniyal Gairola, Amber Srivastava, Abhiranjan Dixit, Dr Vaibhav Uniyal and hundreds of students.
