Dehradun, 9 Mar: The condition of 799 Anganwadi centres operating in government schools across the state is going to change. The Government of India has released an amount of Rs 623 lakhs for child friendly furniture and outdoor play material for the year 2022-23. This amount has been made available to all the districts by the State Project Office, Uttarakhand.
State Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh Rawat has stated in a statement issued to the media that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country where the National Education Policy-2020 has been implemented. The state government had sent an action plan to the Government of India for the modernisation of Anganwadi Centres, as consequence of which the central government released an amount of Rs 623.22 lakhs to provide physical resources to 799 Anganwadi centres of the state. This has been allotted to the districts.
Rawat stated that, under this scheme, an amount of Rs 39,000, each, has been issued to Anganwadi Centres for child friendly furniture and outdoor play material.
The Anganwadi centres of the state which have been selected in the first phase are Almora – 198, Bageshwar – 20, Chamoli – 58, Champawat – 24, Dehradun – 82, Haridwar – 9, Nainital – 69, Pauri – 100, Pithoragarh – 47, Rudraprayag -10, Tehri – 39. He instructed the officials to complete the work of the project on time.
