Mussoorie, 6 Jul: The Annual Inter-House Dramatics Competition was held at St George’s College on 4-5 July.
The Chief Guest at the Opening Ceremony was Roopa Soni, acclaimed author and founder of SoulFit – a cloud kitchen that believes in crafting meals that not only satisfy the palate but also nourish the body and uplift the soul.
The Chief Guest was introduced by Shubhashish Gupta and presented a potted plant as a token of appreciation.
The plays were evaluated by an eminent panel of judges, namely Veena Kalia, Manju Sharma, Seema Sidhwani and Lakshika Pandey.

The first play, a narrative based on the 1933 Marx Brothers’ Film, ‘Duck Soup’, was presented by Gateley’s House. The cast included Ruben Passi as Rufus T Firefly, Prabhav Malik as Mrs Gloria Teasdale, Avya Kathuria as Ambassador Trentino, Bhavik Gupta as Chicolini, Krishna Bhatt as Pinky and Parth Mehrotra as Vera Marcal.
Marthins’ House presented ‘What Happened to Jones’– a comedy revolving around mistaken identity, suspicion and adventure. The cast included Christopher D’Souza as Jones, Achintya Srivastava as Mr Ebenezer Goodley, Sanath Joshi as Mrs Matilda Goodley, Shubh Verma as Richard, Aarnav Rana as the Bishop of Balarat, Aditya Manglik as Inspector Holder and Dev Gera as Marjorie.

The Chief Guest on Day 2 of the Inter-House Dramatics Competition ’25 was Alok Ulfat, an inspirational teacher and tireless cultural crusader, who was introduced by Ashutosh Gupta and presented a potted plant as a token of appreciation.
Tapsell’s House presented the Shakespearean play ‘Antony and Cleopatra’. The cast included Felix Kurian as Mark Antony, Shubhashish Gupta as Cleopatra, Naitik Verma as Octavius Caesar, Seyiezhalie Nakhro as Pompey, Ranvir Kandhari as Enobarbus and Aarav Basant as Octavia.
Cullen’s House presented ‘Charley’s Aunt’, a hilarious comedy revolving around the characters of Jack Chesney played by Krishnam Grover, Lord Babbs/Fake Aunt Donna Lucia played by Yuvraj Chabbara, Charley Wykeham played by Abhinav Rastogi, Mr Spettigue played by Parth Seth, Kitty Verdun played by Yuvraj Saraff and Amy Spettigue as Mahin Ghosh.

The criteria for evaluation included clarity, expression, gestures, stage coverage and effects such as lights, music, costumes and overall appeal.
The evening came to an end with the presentation of mementos of appreciation to the judges.
Chief Guest Alok Ulfat said that it was an enjoyable evening and an absolute honour to have been invited to witness such delightful performances.
Principal Brother Jeyaseelan addressed the gathering and expressed his sincere appreciation to the judges. He lauded the efforts of the teachers and students saying that the success of such events must be attributed to the spirit of tireless teamwork, spirited zeal relentless endeavor.
Yuvraj Chabbara of Cullen’s House was adjudged Best Actor (1st Place), while Krishna Bhatt and Ruben Passi of Gateley’s House secured the 2nd Place and Christopher D’Souza of Marthins’ House was declared Best Actor (3rd Place).
Cullen’s House with 185.5 Points was declared the winners of the Annual Inter-House Dramatics Competition while Gateley’s House with 174.5 Points secured the Runners-Up Trophy.
The evening came to an end with the presentation of mementos to the judges.
The Annual Inter-House Dramatics Competition 2025 was successfully organised under the supervision of Brother Jeyaseelan S (Principal, St George’s College), Brother Britto (Superior, St George’s College), Brother Felix Kumar (Vice-Principal), Deepali Ballabh (Cultural Coordinator) and Bhavnesh Negi.
