Dehradun, 6 Jul: The 499th meeting of the Dehradun WIC Toastmasters Club commenced with a warm welcome from the Sergeant-at-Arms, TM Kamnah Kanglom, who briefed the audience on the ground rules and decorum of a Toastmasters meeting. She then invited the Club President, TM Kanika Juyal, to officially open the session.

In her address, TM Kanika invited the guests to introduce themselves on stage—a cherished tradition that helps new attendees break the ice, feel at ease, and gain the confidence to speak in front of an audience. This session saw an impressive number of guests, each adding their own charm, making the gathering lively and enriching with their unique stories.

Following the introductions, TM Kanika handed over the stage to the Toastmaster of the Day, TM Prakash Bhatt. With the theme “Toastmasters: What’s in it for You?”, TM Prakash highlighted the vision and structure of Toastmasters. He elaborated on how the platform caters to individuals with diverse goals, offering a flexible framework of paths and levels tailored for personal and professional growth.

Adding a creative twist to the session, TM Prakash conducted an engaging activity where members were paired with guests as mentors and mentees. Each guest shared their motivation for attending, while the mentors later recounted their mentee’s journey on stage. These heartfelt narratives revealed a beautiful blend of participants—ranging from former Toastmasters revisiting the community to complete newcomers exploring the club, and families seeking meaningful ways to grow together.

Next, TM Kothiyal stepped in as the General Evaluator, introducing his Tag Team and setting the stage for the most exhilarating part of the meeting—the Table Topics session. What made this session special was the enthusiastic participation of the guests, who delivered spontaneous speeches with impressive poise and creativity.

Another thoughtful activity followed, where guests were paired and asked to present a positive outlook on a past negative experience. Much like the Table Topics, this segment was guest-driven and saw incredible participation, turning vulnerability into inspiration.

The meeting concluded with the Evaluation segment, at which the General Evaluator and the Tag Team shared constructive feedback on the meeting and individual speakers, fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.

Overall, the 499th meeting was a resounding success—marked by energy, engagement, and a sense of shared learning. The club extended heartfelt gratitude to all members and guests who made this session memorable.
