Dehradun 30 Aug: The BJP has accused the Congress of spreading confusion and misinformation regarding the High Court’s orders to evict all encroachments. Bhatt was reacting to the allegations levelled by senior Congress leader Ganesh Godiyal that the anti encroachment drive of the government is against the local and the poor people.
While speaking informally with the media persons at BJP State Headquarters here, today, Bhatt said that all legal aspects will be taken care of by the government while taking action against the encroachment on all government properties in compliance with the orders issued by the High Court. He claimed that interests of the local population and those not having encroached on any government land will be taken care of by the government. No one would be harmed unnecessarily.
Bhatt reiterated that the matter is related to the compliance with the directions of the High Court and that steps have been taken in the constitutional and public interest only after considering all the legal aspects. He alleged that some political parties have created this whole legal complication by spreading misinformation. He added that the BJP government is committed to the cause of the people and will not allow loss to the employment and business establishments of the local residents at any cost.
Advising the Congress leaders, Bhatt said that realising the seriousness of the matter, their leaders should refrain from doing politics on this issue in the interest of the state. Because everyone knows that the government will not allow any compromise with the interests of the natives in the cities and towns of the mountainous region. The Congress leaders were not deliberately informing the people that the action would be taken on the orders of the High Court and they should not have politicised the issue at all aiming for narrow political gains. Bhatt claimed that the people of Uttarakhand are wise and they can see through the game being played by the Congress. They would teach Congress yet another lesson at the right time. Congress should refrain from spreading rumours and instilling fear among the local people.
