Army Conducts Veterans & Veer Naris Welfare cum Medical Camp at Raiwala

DEHRADUN, 8 Dec: A “Veterans & Veer Naris Welfare cum Medical Camp” covering four districts of Uttarakhand including Haridwar, Dehradun, Tehri and Pauri was held under the aegis of Garuda Division at Raiwala on 07 December . The theme of the event was “Hamaare Veterans, Hamaari Shaan”.
General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Garuda Division Maj Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar felicitated Veer Naris, disabled soldiers and addressed the Veterans. Seven modified scooters and one wheelchair were presented to the disabled Veterans as part of the theme of the Year 2018 being observed as “Year of Disabled”. The GOC lauded the contribution and sacrifices made by the soldiers during peace, conflict and in aid of civil authorities and emphasized that veterans have been our pivotal strength. He re-iterated that Army is always committed to look after its Veterans.
To facilitate the Veterans settled in remote areas with limited access to facilities and current pension policies, stalls of PCDA (Pension) Allahabad, Banks and Record Offices were setup. Representatives of Police and Civil Administration were also present to resolve the issues of veterans. In addition services like online digital life certificate, Aadhar, PAN, ECHS were also provided. Band display, Gatka and Khukri display were the other major attractions in addition to tea and lunch.
