Governor participates in the 10th World Ayurveda Congress & Arogya Expo-2024

Dehradun, 15 Dec: Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd) participated in the closing ceremony of the 10th World Ayurveda Congress & Arogya Expo-2024 held at Parade Ground on Sunday. The four-day event saw the participation of numerous Ayurvedic experts, researchers, and scholars from across the globe. The Governor visited various stalls related to Ayurveda at the venue to gather information.
Addressing the closing ceremony, the Governor stated that Uttarakhand, the land of Ayurveda, is renowned for its natural resources and medicinal plant reserves, making the hosting of the Ayurveda Congress here a matter of great pride. The Governor emphasized that this event is not only a celebration of our cultural heritage but also a significant step towards finding solutions to future health challenges through Ayurveda. He congratulated the World Ayurveda Foundation, Ministry of AYUSH, and the state government for the successful organization of the Congress and said that it will provide new pathways for addressing global health challenges.
Lt Gen Singh added that the focus of the event, which integrates Ayurveda with modern systems like digital health technology and artificial intelligence, will not only make Ayurveda more accessible but also present it effectively on a global scale. He noted that the four-day Ayurveda Mahakumbh showcased an incredible convergence of ideas, knowledge, and innovations. The insights and deliberations from Ayurvedic practitioners and experts from across the world will undoubtedly result in significant advancements that will be seen globally in the near future.
The Governor expressed confidence that this conference will successfully promote India’s ancient knowledge of Ayurveda and Yoga on the global stage. He further mentioned that combining our rich heritage of Ayurveda with modern science will make it even more impactful and contribute to global welfare. The Governor also highlighted that the natural beauty and spiritual heritage of Uttarakhand make it an ideal destination for Ayurvedic tourism and holistic healing, and the hosting of the Ayurveda Congress will further promote wellness tourism here.
The closing ceremony was attended by AYUSH Secretary Ravinath Raman, Additional Secretary Vijay Kumar Jogdande, General Secretary of the National Organizing Committee Prof Anoop Thakkar, National Organizing Secretary Dr Shiv Kumar, Joint Secretary Praveen Ramdas, Dr KD Purohit, President of Vigyan Bharti Uttarakhand, along with delegates from India and abroad.
