Dehradun, 15 Dec: The ‘Gangadhara: The Uninterrupted Flow of Thoughts’ lecture series, organised by the Devbhoomi Vikas Sansthan, will be inaugurated on 21 December by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Dr Nityanand Auditorium of Doon University.
This two-day event aims to provide a platform for experts, educators, researchers, and distinguished intellectuals from various fields to share their thoughts, enabling the creation of long-term plans to address the common people’s issues.
Speaking at a press conference, Trivendra Singh Rawat, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and Member of Parliament from Haridwar, explained that the lecture series is a serious effort to understand society’s problems and incorporate expert opinions for their solutions. He further mentioned that the series would continue in the future, being organised in different cities and institutions, to address societal issues and create new approaches for their resolution.
The inaugural session will feature Swami Avadheshanand Giri, who will deliver a lecture on “The Eternal Flow of Indian Culture”. The closing session will have speeches by the Governors of Uttarakhand, Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd), and Kerala, Arif Mohammed Khan, on the topic “Culture, Nature, and Progress”.
Professor Dr Surekha Dangwal, Vice-Chancellor of Doon University, stated that this lecture series would be beneficial for the students, improving educational standards and offering valuable experiences from intellectuals to society.
The lecture series will focus on topics such as the journey of the Ganga from its source to the Amrit Kaal, and will delve into five significant challenges, including migration and sustainable development in the Himalayan region.
