DEHRADUN,13 Jan: The BJP has accused the Congress of spreading confusion regarding the participation of Shankracharyas in the Pran Pratishtha programme of the Ram temple. The party also accused the Congress of always opposing the temple. Addressing a press conference at the BJP state headquarters here on Saturday, BJP state president Mahendra Bhatt claimed that opposition to the Ram temple ceremony at Ayodhya is a matter of political compulsion for the Congress, as it decided not to attend  the temple consecration in Ayodhya for the fear of losing votes of a certain community.

Bhatt claimed that the Congress is a party that tolerates disruptions, hence the party leaders are always trying to create obstacles in the work of Sanatan Dharma. He added that the Congress is trying to spread confusion by spreading falsehood about Shankaracharya not attending the Pran Pratistha. The truth is that these religious leaders have neither said any such thing themselves nor did their followers. As far as the question of Congress not attending the function is concerned, those who have always opposed the construction of the Ram temple are now being forced to be embarrassed as the temple has been established right in front of their eyes. Now the scope of their appeasement politics has been limited; that is why they are not risking their lives to manage the remaining vote bank. Bhatt claimed that the public will teach Congress a tough lesson in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, as had happened in 2014 and 2019 too.

Bhatt termed the discussion about L K Advani and Muralimanohar Joshi abstaining from attending the consecration of the temple, as a Congress rumor and clarified that both the senior leaders of BJP have been invited by the temple trust to attend the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. But as everyone knows, they are in frail health and therefore their coming is a little uncertain.

Hitting back at Congress‘s objections regarding the wall writings by the BJP, Bhatt said that Congress has neither leaders, nor workers, nor political land, nor walls, nor ideas, nor any issues. So their real problem is who will write on the wall and what will they write. As far as the BJP’s campaign is concerned, such slogans and ideas are always written on the walls, be it Lok Sabha or Assembly elections. This time too, wall painting is being done as per constitutional norms and guidelines of the Election Commission.
