Dehradun, 7 Sep: BJP has described veteran Congress leader Harish Rawat’s allegations regarding Ranikhet MLA’s brother as an attempt to create sensation merely for political gain. Reacting to the allegations levelled by Harish Rawat, BJP’s State spokesperson Suresh Joshi retorted that the government has ensured proper legal action so far in this entire incident which indicates total impartiality on the part of the government. Joshi also took a dig at the “opportunistic statements” of Congress regarding cow slaughter and claimed that the public wants to know straight why the Congress leaders are standing in favour of the cow killers.

Regarding the allegations of former CM Harish Rawat, Joshi asserted the law and order in the state is well managed under the Dhami government and the necessary actions are being taken without any discrimination. Joshi said that the incident Harish Rawat and other Congress leaders are talking about on the India-Nepal border also confirms this truth. If something wrong was found there, then an appropriate legal action was taken on the spot and no special preference was given to anyone like in Congress governments. Describing Rawat’s attempt to link the incident to Maoism as irresponsible, he said, it is not right for big leaders to make such allegations without facts just to create sensation. The BJP Government is working with full transparency and strictness regarding law and order. Whenever any incident comes to light, immediate action is taken on it. The law is taking its own course on this issue as well. Therefore, everyone should avoid making statements with the aim of taking political advantage on every issue.

Also, calling the Congress’ clarification on the allegations of standing with cow slaughterers as inadequate, Joshi demanded that the Congress leaders should give a direct answer instead of beating around the bush. The people of Uttarakhand want a one-word answer from the Congress if it is favour of cow slaughterers or not? Joshi claims that the answer to this becomes clear in their appeasement policy itself. The country is witness to the massacre of hundreds of cow-worshippers in front of the Parliament during the Indira government and it is seeing Rahul Gandhi giving importance in his visits to those who openly set up beef stalls and dhabas in Kerala, and the protection given to cow-killers by the Congress government. He advised all the state Congress leaders in the state to learn a lesson from the confession of Himachal Congress ministers regarding the illegal mosque, because now the public is not going to accept at any cost those who protect cow-killers in Devbhoomi. Supporting cow-slaughterers under the guise of law and order is a part of the Congress’s appeasement policy, which people are understanding very well, Joshi claimed.
