Dehradun, 26 Nov: The Uttarakhand BJP today celebrated Constitution Day by pledging that the Constitution is supreme for the protection of democracy and the country. On this occasion, a seminar was hosted by the party at the State Party Headquarters here today. State General Secretary Organisation Ajaey Kumar highlighted the importance of the Indian Constitution and appealed to everyone to spread awareness among the masses.
He also claimed that, under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the country is moving forward into the golden era envisioned by Baba Saheb. While addressing the seminar, he called 26 November an important day, akin to 26 January, and emphasised upon the need for its discussion in society. Taking a dig at the Opposition, Kumar reminded that many previous governments limited this important day to the mere formality of Law Day. They prevented this achievement from reaching the public, but it is a matter of great pride for all the citizens that Prime Minister Modi has linked it with public participation by announcing Constitution Day. Kumar also stressed on the importance of moving forward to protect democracy along with the country.
Kumar also urged everyone to discuss the Constitution among the public while also realising their responsibility towards it. He pressed for the need to sit among the people and spread public awareness about constitutional duties and rights. Describing this role as necessary, he said that this is an effective way to end the opposition narrative. He said that under the leadership of PM Modi, India is being built according to the dreams of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.
While addressing the seminar, Cabinet Minister Ganesh Joshi said that Constitution Day is a matter of honour for all the people. The previous governments worked to suppress the ideas of Baba Saheb and end his identity. But Modi has established Panchteertha by honouring five important places related to his life. Joshi also claimed that Baba Saheb Ambedkar implemented the best law in the world in the form of the Indian Constitution.
State General Secretary Aditya Kothari discussed the fundamental rights of the Constitution in detail during his address. Targeting the opposition, Kothari stated that Congress had worked to undermine the Constitution by imposing emergency in the country and changing the original preamble of the Constitution. Rajpur MLA Khajan Das urged the party workers to take the Constitution to the masses. He thanked PM Modi for creating sensitivity, importance, and awareness among the people about Indian Constitution Day. The seminar was chaired by BJP Scheduled Caste Front state president Sameer Arya and compered by Jaipal Singh.
