Municipal Elections: CM campaigns in Doon & Chamba

Dehradun, 13 Jan: As the polling day for the municipal elections in the state approaches, the campaigning has picked up pace. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has also joined the campaigning for the BJP. Today, he addressed rallies in Chamba in Tehri district and Selaqui in Dehradun. Dhami reached Chamba this morning. Here, before addressing the public meeting, he garlanded the statues of Sridev Suman and martyr Gabbar Singh Negi.

In Chamba, also, he addressed a public meeting in favour of the BJP candidate for the post of municipal chairperson in Chamba, Shobhana Dhanaula. The CM asserted that he is 200 percent confident that the people of Chamba and New Tehri would ensure wins for the BJP candidates from Chamba and Tehri with a huge majority. He appealed to the public to vote for the BJP candidates. Dhami also emphasised that, with a triple engine government, the pace of development would be three times faster.

During the road show he held along with the party workers, Dhami also interacted with the locals and the traders in Chamba. Addressing the public meeting, Dhami said that the crowd in Chamba is giving out a clear message of victory, which is very important for the triple engine government. He also sought voters’ support for the candidates of all the wards of Chamba Municipal Council. The CM added that every vote in Chamba would play an important role in the development of the state. Apart from this, CM Dhami wished the people of Chamba a Happy Makar Sankranti and urged all the district residents to also participate in the promotion of the upcoming 38th National Games.

Later in the day, the addressed a public meeting in Selaqui in Dehradun district. He claimed that the BJP candidates would achieve a one-sided victory in Selaqui Nagar Panchayat. He reminded that this is the first election after the formation of Selaqui Nagar Panchayat and that those voting for the first time would be creating history. Dhami said that the people of Selaqui have a golden opportunity to form a triple engine government for the development of this place. He also praised the working style of PM Modi and claimed that taking inspiration from him, the Uttarakhand government is also working continuously to take the state to the heights of development.

Dhami also stated that with the victory of BJP candidates in the ULBs, there would be better coordination between the state government and the municipalities.

With the completion of the construction of the Dehradun-Delhi Expressway, the distance from Dehradun to Delhi would be covered in just two and a half hours. This would double the influx of tourists in Dehradun district, increasing the income of people in every sector from hotel and tourism business, trade, parking, and taxis. He mentioned that the government is also sensitive about the increasing traffic in the cities and efforts are being made to solve this problem by building a ring road, bypass, and elevated road.
