BJP prepares for Modi’s rally in Rishikesh

Dehradun, 10 Apr: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach Yoga city Rishikesh tomorrow for an election rally on the banks of River Ganga. Preparations for this rally to be held at IPDL grounds in Rishikesh by the BJP were in full swing, today. The administration also prepared for the rally but in low key because of the Model Code of Conduct (MCOC) in force across the country. Most of the preparations have been finalised. The SPG, ATS and other security agencies have taken up positions at the meeting venue.

At the same time, BJP has arranged for a large number of buses for the party workers from across the Garhwal region. These buses from Dehradun will leave for Rishikesh at 9 a.m.

BJP is not leaving any stone unturned to make the rally a grand success. The party has nominated BJP General Secretary Aditya Kothari as Rally Coordinator and Party’s Vice President Kuldeep Kumar as the rally in charge.

Kothari said that the election rally has been named Namo Namah Jan Sabha. Three big hangar tents have been installed at the public meeting venue and a 12 foot high stage has been built.  A hundred and eight Veda Pathis will chant mantras to welcome PM Modi. Apart from this, everything from drinking water to food packets are also being arranged for BJP supporters.

Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha candidate Anil Baluni, Haridwar Lok Sabha candidate Trivendra Singh Rawat and Maharani Mala Raj Lakshmi from Tehri will be present as speakers at the election rally and thousands of their supporters will reach Rishikesh to extend their support to PM Modi. The PM’s public meeting is going to be held at 11 a.m. His helicopter will land in another ground nearby. The PM’s office has sent a 45-minute programme to Rishikesh from where he will travel only half a kilometre. It is expected that this is going to be the biggest public meeting of Rishikesh so far. In view of the programme, many security agencies including SPG, ATS, ITBP, Uttarakhand Police have camped here for the security of the PM.

CM Dhami reviews preparations for Modi’s rally

Rishikesh, 10 Apr: As the BJP workers prepare for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally to be held in Rishikesh tomorrow, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the rally site today to review the preparations. He took stock of the preparations at the venue and gave necessary directions to the officials present on the spot. Cabinet Minister Prem Chand Aggarwal and Rishikesh Mayor Anita Mamgain were also present at the rally venue along with the CM. Dhami sought feedback from the officials about the arrangements and instructed them to ensure these are completed by evening today. He also directed them to ensure that there is no negligence of any kind in the security arrangements for PM Modi.

Speaking informally with media persons present on the occasion, CM Dhami said there is enthusiasm among the people of the state for tomorrow’s public meeting. He claimed that a huge crowd that would come to this public meeting from across the state and make it an historic rally.

The meeting would ensure a historic win in the Lok Sabha Elections not only in Haridwar, Tehri and Garhwal seats but in all five seats, he claimed. He reminded that everyone knows that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special attachment for Uttarakhand.

This is the second election visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Uttarakhand in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Earlier, he had addressed a grand rally in Rudrapur (District Udham Singh Nagar) on 2 April. It may be recalled that voting for the Lok Sabha elections in Uttarakhand is to be held in the first phase on 19 April, the results of which will come on 4 June.
