Dehradun, 26 Mar: BJP’s National General Secretary and state in-charge of party affairs in Uttarakhand, Dushyant Kumar Gautam, today, addressed the media at the Election Media Centre here after the nomination of candidates. He claimed that it is clear from the atmosphere during the nomination that the public has decided to make Narendra Modi’s 400-pass campaign a reality. He described the remarks made by a national spokesperson of Congress (Supriya Shrinate) about Kangana Ranaut as extremely insulting, shameful and asserted that this exposes the Congress’s thinking regarding women. He also slammed Congress for not considering even a single woman worthy of being a Lok Sabha candidate in the state.
Gautam said that the impact of the work of PM Modi and CM Pushkar Singh Dhami was clearly visible from the enthusiasm of the people at both the places today. He said that the people are themselves ensuring that Modi’s claim of 400 plus seats for NDA becomes a reality. He added that, while on the one hand, the Modi government enhanced India’s reputation in the world with all-round development and proved its potential, on the other hand the work of the state’s Dhami government has become an example in the country.
Gautam asserted that at the time when Modi and Dhami are taking major decisions for empowerment and respect of women, Congress and opposition leaders are insulting them. He termed the social media post made by Congress spokesperson Supriya regarding Kangana Ranaut as shameful and as one that revealed the real thinking of the Congress Party towards women. Registering a strong objection to this, he said that there would be no excuse for giving any clarification on the statement or for shying away from it. If there is even a little morality left in the Congress, then Congress National President Kharge should immediately dismiss his party spokesperson. He said that it is surprising that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have not uttered a single word against those who had spoken ill about women. Even Priyanka Vadra, the sister who gave the slogan of ‘Ladki Hai Lad Sakhti’, has not bothered to comment.
Citing the claim that the account of Shrinate had been hacked as a lame excuse, Gautam said that even if it was so then why was a case not filed immediately. It is extremely unfortunate in all this that a woman said all this to a woman. He accused the Congress of spreading confusion on women’s issues.
Regarding the Congress candidate from Haridwar, he claimed that the veteran Congress leader, Harish Rawat, is doing the same work of promoting dynasticism which his leadership and high command are doing in Delhi. One after the other, the fourth member of his family has been brought into politics as a Lok Sabha candidate on the Congress ticket. First the elder son, then the wife, then the daughter, now the younger son, in his eyes no other Congressman is worthy other than his own family. He expressed confidence that the great people of Devbhoomi would never support dynasticism.
The state in-charge said that the mood of the public is to bless Modi, which was clearly visible in today’s nomination. Undoubtedly, BJP is going to win all the five seats with a margin of more than 5 lakhs.
