Haridwar, 26 Mar: Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and BJP candidate from Haridwar Lok Sabha seat, Trivendra Singh Rawat filed his nomination in physical form at the District Collectorate, here, today. He had on 22 March also filed his nomination digitally. Before filing his nomination today in physical mode, he performed Ganga puja at Har Ki Pauri and sought blessings from Mother Ganga for his victory. Many BJP workers including Haridwar MLA Madan Kaushik were present along with Trivendra Singh Rawat’s wife Sunita Rawat and daughter Kriti Rawat.

After performing the Ganga Puja, Trivendra Rawat looked confident about his victory. He said that, this time, there would be a fight between two ideologies on the Haridwar seat and the BJP will win easily based on the people’s support and the development work being done by the BJP at the Centre and in the state. The ideology of BJP emanates from the fragrance of the soil of the country. Whereas the ideology of Congress has come from the West and its roots were planted by the British. He also took a dig at former CM Harish Rawat’s claim of a Congress victory. Rawat said that the results on 4 June would make it clear who would win and celebrate Diwali. Rawat also participated in several functions in Haridwar today.

Commenting on Harish Rawat’s son Virender Rawat getting the ticket from the Congress, he said that BJP does not directly promote dynastic and family politics. While offering worship to Mother Ganga, he prayed for cleanliness, purity and continuity.

Rawat said that the public support being received is unprecedented. His efforts would be to work for the development of Haridwar Lok Sabha. He understood the needs and priorities here. Because, having been the Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister, he is fully aware of the problems and issues related to Haridwar. He also sought suggestions from the people of Haridwar, and said that, after receiving their feedback, he would release his manifesto for the constituency. Sunita Rawat, wife of Trivendra Singh Rawat, observed that she has a lot of hope from the public. She expressed confidence that her husband would live up to the expectations of the people. The public sees what work the party has done and how much development it has achieved. Trivendra Singh Rawat’s daughter Kriti Rawat observed that the people want Narendra Modi to again become the PM of the country and take the country forward on the path of development.
