Dehradun, 29 May: BJP state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan has criticised veteran Congress leader and former chief minister Harish Rawat, stating that his complaints against BJP during temple visits will not bring him inner peace. Chauhan remarked that Sanatan Dharma provides for atonement, and in every religion, gratitude towards God is encouraged over complaints.
Chauhan accused Rawat of using religious platforms for political purposes, asserting that such tactics will neither impress the public nor bring him peace of mind. He challenged Rawat to clarify instances of injustice against him, arguing that if he blames both himself and BJP, he is essentially admitting his own fault.
He further alleged that Rawat has opposed actions related to cultural protection, demographic changes, and demolition of illegal tombs. Chauhan also alleged that the controversial Muslim university issue was not initiated by BJP but raised by a Congress official, yet Rawat remained silent instead of addressing it within his party.
Referring to the government order on ‘Jume ki Namaz’ holiday, Chauhan claimed that Rawat has been theatrically searching for the letter, despite widespread media discussions. He insisted that the public could not be misled, but rather, it has observed who has truly stood for Sanatan culture’s protection.
Chauhan urged introspection by Rawat, stating that fair decisions must be taken at the right and opportune time, or else sacred rivers like the Mokshadayini Ganga would be reduced to mere drains. He further asserted the complaints made for public welfare and in devotion to God will be heard in Dev Darbar, but political grievances will only escalate ahead of elections.
