DEHRADUN, 10 Dec: A mega ‘Success Festival’ was organised today at Uttaranchal University as part of a bumper placement drive at the end of the first session. Varsity Chancellor Jitendra Joshi was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion. A big cake was cut by the students who had received job offers. Iqbal Singh Sahni, Incharge of the University Corporate Resource Centre, stated that 45 placement drives were organised in the last three months in which reputed companies participated. As many as 430 students received placement offers, some of them even getting more than one offer. Vasundhara Rawat of BTech (Electrical) got the highest offer of Rs 15 lakhs per annum, while 33 others received an annual package of Rs 12.4 lakhs. Many others received offers between Rs 3 and Rs 8 lakhs. Vice Chancellor Prof NK Joshi observed that the university was committed to organising further placement drives, which would ensure ample placement opportunities to the students in the future. Chancellor Jitender Joshi maintained that campus placement was the real yardstick to measure the success of educational institutions. He thanked the employees and faculty of the University Corporate Resource Centre for performing up to the expectations of the students. Those present on the occasion included Director Dr Abhishek Joshi, Registrar Ajai Singh, Law College Principal and Dean Dr Rajesh Bahuguna, Dr Pradeep Suri, Dr Sunil Ghildiyal, Dr JP Mishra, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Shah, Dr Ajay Singh, Dr Anuj Mittal, Manish Badoni, Dr Shreya Goyal, Rajeev Kukreti, Shristi Uniyal, Paramjeet Singh, Vibhum Agarwal, Gurpreet Sharma, Rachit Rastogi, Jolly Jackson, Gitika Tamta, Ashish Sharma, Mukesh Sharma and hundreds of students.
