Career Counselling held at Graphic Era

Dehradun, 18 May: Former CEO & MD of BrahMos Aerospace and Renowned Scientist Dr Sudhir Mishra said that the Next Generation BrahMos Missile will be significantly more advanced and powerful. He said that Operation Sindoor showcased India’s strength to the world. Dr Mishra was addressing the Career Counselling event organised at Graphic Era today.

Graphic Era organised this Mega Counselling event to help youngsters in choosing a career according to their interest and capabilities. Dr Sudhir Mishra said that Operation Sindoor compelled Pakistan to surrender. A ceasefire was the necessity of Pakistan, not India. Not only Pakistan but the whole world felt the power of India. India agreed to a ceasefire after three hours of receiving the request from Pakistan. Pakistan understood that India’s defence system is capable of destroying it.
Dr Mishra who has played an instrumental role in the team that developed BrahMos is also a member of Graphic Era’s Board of Governors. Today, NCC cadets welcomed him with flower petals as he reached the event.
Sharing the journey of BrahMos’ development, from the contribution of Missile Man Dr APJ Abdul Kalam to its present form, he said that it is the first and only missile in the world with the highest flying speed. Its speed is 900m per second with precision targeting. With a range from 30km to 300 km, it can be launched from water, land as well as air. The upcoming BrahMos Next Generation will be more effective. Work is being done to decrease its weight and increase the range. BrahMos plays a crucial role in securing not just the Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal but its range of security extends from Japan to Egypt. He urged the students to work diligently to make India No. 1 in the world.
Dr Mishra added that career prospects in the field of Aerospace have significantly expanded.
In the Mega Counselling event, Chairman, Graphic Era Group of Institutions, Dr Kamal Ghanshala highlighted his journey from pursuing engineering till the present time and provided in-depth information on startups and career opportunities available in various fields, including engineering, management and computer application. Dr Ghanshala said that integrating artificial intelligence in various disciplines has opened new pathways for the students of courses such as B.Com, Fine Arts and English Hons to secure prominent roles in IT companies as well.

Chairman Dr Ghanshala added that Graphic Era not only connects students with new technologies but also prepares them for global competition. To connect them with new technology, a Centre of Excellence has been set up in Graphic Era with the support of the Tata Group. Graphic Era has invested Rs 22 crore in Artificial Intelligence teaching infrastructure. Along with this, the university has become the first future ready GenAI Campus and further work is underway to build a Centre of Excellence for Quantum computing in collaboration with Amazon Web Services. A Next Gen iOS development lab is also being built in collaboration with Apple. It will be ready next month. These are big steps taken towards connecting students with the world’s latest technology.
He said that, in the present era, youngsters’ interest in the field of Aerospace and the possibilities of making a career in it has increased a lot. Now they have started seeing a bright future in drone and missile technology. At the event, University Head, Tech Innovation, Tejasvi Ghanshala, Rohit Sharma from Amazon Web Services, Dean, School of Law, Dr Daisy Alexander, GM, Career Services and Student Experiences, Anshul Nanda, Dean, School of Design, Dr Saurabh Kumar, HOD, Fashion Designing, Dr Jyoti Chhabra also offered valuable career guidance to the students. The event was hosted by Sahib Sablok.
On this occasion, a huge crowd was seen at exhibitions put up at Silver Jubilee Convention Centre, showcasing Graphic Era’s Start-up Centre TBI, drones manufactured in the Aerospace Engineering Department and stalls of other departments. Many technical sessions were also conducted for students.
Youngsters’ interest in Aerospace Engineering rises
Dehradun, 18 May: At the Mega Career Counselling event held at Graphic Era’s Silver Jubilee Convention Centre, a significant surge in interest was observed among youth towards the field of Aerospace Engineering.
Thousands of students participated in the event, which proved to be both informative and inspiring. A noteworthy aspect of this session was the influence of the recent India-Pakistan conflict, which ignited a renewed sense of patriotism among the youth. This has also sparked a deeper curiosity in scientific advancements and national defence technologies.
Driven by this patriotic fervour, many students expressed a strong inclination toward pursuing careers in Aerospace Engineering, seeing it as a promising and meaningful path for their successful future.
