‘Career Town’ to be held on 24-25 Nov for students of Doon

Dehradun, 22 Nov: ‘Career Buddy Club’, today, announced the upcoming ‘Career Town’, an initiative to assist students make well-informed decisions about their futures. Scheduled for November 24 and 25, the programme will be conducted at Doon International School, Dalanwala. The announcement was made during a press conference held today at the Doon Library.
Addressing the media, Saithjeet Singh Arora, CEO of Career Buddy Club, expressed his enthusiasm about Career Town, stating, “Our two-day Career Town programme will provide students with exciting career-oriented activities and invaluable guidance from professionals across various fields. ”
He added, “The anticipated event will boast an impressive lineup of distinguished guests, including Director of IIM Indore, Himanshu Rai; President of Harvard Club of India, Vishal Sehgal; DGP, Uttarakhand, Ashok Kumar; Chef, Author & former VJ, Maria Goretti; Social Worker & Arts Impresario, Anurag Chauhan; Beauty & Wellness Expert and Author, Vasudha Rai; CEO, RED FM, Nisha Narayanan; and Mr India & Actor, Darasingh Khurana.”
On the occasion, DGP Ashok Kumar emphasised the significance of aligning one’s career with personal interests, stressing that a fulfilling job should resonate with one’s passion. He shed light on the interplay of inherent hereditary factors, the relentless dedication of hard work, and the unpredictable elements of luck or chance that collectively shape an individual’s career trajectory. He urged aspiring individuals to conduct a SWOT analysis to identify and leverage their inherent talents. Furthermore, he underscored the importance of smart work, emphasising that, alongside hard work, the application of strategic and intelligent efforts is crucial.
Career Town is set to host stimulating discussions, engaging workshops, competitions, and activity zones dedicated to Careers, Courses, Campuses, and Companies. The programme aims to empower students in making well-informed decisions about their futures.
Adding further insights, Social Worker Anurag Chauhan shared, “In response to the challenge where 93% of students are aware of only seven career options, Career Town is offering a Career Aptitude Test during the two-day event. This test is designed to help students discover their personality, strengths, and skills, providing personalised recommendations for the best-suited career paths—all at no cost.”
The event will also include the prestigious Swami Vivekananda Shiksha Puraskar 2023, honouring individuals who have made significant contributions to education and society.
Tanvir Shah, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO), stated, “Under the guidance of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, Career Town has received an official letter of endorsement from the Secondary Education Department, Government of Uttarakhand. This endorsement highlights our commitment to spreading awareness about 250+ career options, contributing to increased employment opportunities for students in Uttarakhand.”
Anukriti Batra, Chief Operating Officer (COO), added, “Our event will feature competitions exclusively for Class XII students. With a chance to win prizes worth Rs 1,00,000, the competitions include Quiz, Debate, Startup Pitch, and more. We are delighted to share that 30 schools have already confirmed their participation, ensuring a dynamic and engaging experience for all attendees.”
