CASFoS to hold Convocation on 18 June

Dehradun, 16 June: The Central Academy for State Forest Service (CASFoS), Dehradun, Union Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, will organise its Convocation for the 2017-19 State Forest Service batch Officer Trainees on 18 June in the Forest Research Institute, Convocation Hall, New Forest Campus, here.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, will be the Chief Guest at the function. Dignitaries like the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Uttarakhand; Director General, Indian Council for Forestry Research and Education; Director, Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy; Director General, Forest Survey of India, and Director, Wildlife Institute of India will be present at the function. In addition, senior forest officers, Heads of Departments, army officers from IMA and representatives of other leading institutions would also be in attendance.
The passing out batch consists of 42 State Forest Service Officer Trainees, including 10 lady Officer Trainees, sponsored by the State Governments of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Nagaland, Odisha, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. All the successfully passing out Officer Trainees will be given diploma certificates equivalent to MSc degrees in Forestry. In addition, seven other special meritorious awards i.e. Ministry of Environment & Forests Gold Medal; Silver Medal for Best All Rounder Officer Trainee and Most Practical Officer; Silver medal for Proficiency in Forest Management & Working Plan; Silver medal for Proficiency in Ecology; RC Kaushik Prize for Proficiency in Soil Conservation and Land Management; Proficiency in Forest Engineering and Survey; and P Srinivas Prize in Forest Protection and Tribal Welfare Award will also be given.
