Garhwal Post Bureau
Dehradun, 28 Nov: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today arrested Suman, an assistant professor at Shaheed Hansad Dhani Government College, Agorora (Dhar Mandal) in Tehri Garhwal, for her alleged involvement in the Uttarakhand Graduate-Level Examination paper leak case. She has been accused of conspiring with two private individuals, identified as Mohammad Khalid and his sister Sabiha, who were earlier apprehended in connection with the case.
It may be recalled that some time ago, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in line with the demand of the youth, had transferred the investigation into the alleged paper leak case to the CBI. Following this, the agency today took custody of the private accused and conducted an extensive investigation. During police custody, their detailed interrogation and scrutiny of mobile phones and other digital evidence brought the assistant professor’s role under suspicion. Consequently, she has been arrested today and will be produced before the designated court after a medical examination.
According to the findings so far, the assistant professor allegedly helped the accused by solving portions of the question paper that had reached her through his sister and the answers were then forwarded to the accused appearing in the examination. The investigation is progressing on a daily basis.
