Dehradun, 28 Nov: Dharampur MLA and BJP state spokesperson Vinod Chamoli today claimed that under the chief ministership of Pushkar Singh Dhami, the double engine government has historically worked at double speed. He was addressing the media at the BJP State Headquarters here today at the launch of the development-centric press conference series.

Chamoli emphasised that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat’ is being realised in Uttarakhand under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami. He asserted that the people of Uttarakhand are now experiencing the fruits of development, with the state poised to become a developed Uttarakhand. Chamoli underlined that Uttarakhand is not only emerging as a hub of religious tourism but is also making rapid strides in modern infrastructure, health, education, and employment.

Chamoli stressed that the Union Government projects alone amount to schemes worth over Rs 2 lakh crores currently underway in the state. Referring to the Kedarnath-Badrinath Master Plan and the Char Dham Yatra, he described the reconstruction work in Kedarnath as remarkable for blending modern technology with traditional architecture. He added that. in Badrinath, facilities such as roads, parking, residential accommodation, and amenities for pilgrims are also being developed under the Master Plan. The Ropeway Project for Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib will save pilgrims considerable travel time while generating employment opportunities for local communities, he noted.

The BJP MLA further reminded that the long-cherished dream of railways in the mountains will soon become a reality with the construction of the Rishikesh-Karnaprayag rail line. This project, he said, will serve as the lifeline of Uttarakhand, connecting the Himalayan region to the national rail network, thereby enhancing public connectivity and expediting relief operations during disasters. He added that decades-pending dam projects including Song, Kisau, Lakhwar Vyasi, and Jamrani are also being accelerated to provide long-term solutions to the state’s drinking water and energy challenges.

Chamoli stressed that remote hill areas are being connected through the expanding road network, which has significantly improved education, health, and commercial activities as roads reach village after village. Simultaneously, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is delivering pucca houses to poor families in both rural and urban areas, while the expansion of Ayushman Bharat Yojana through the Atal Ayushman Uttarakhand scheme is offering free treatment facilities to millions of families.

Chamoli also drew attention to reforms in the mining sector, achieved through coordinated efforts of the Centre and the State. Uttarakhand has received a record incentive of Rs 200 crore, while the Dhami government’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy against corruption has curbed illegal mining, positioning the state as a national model. He added that technical improvements, transparency, and the Central cooperation have led to unprecedented growth in mining revenue over the past four years. Uttarakhand secured the first rank in NITI Aayog’s SDG India Index 2023-24 Report. In addition, the fisheries sector earned the ‘Best State’ award among Himalayan and North-Eastern states, while four villages were honoured with the Best Tourism Village Award. He reminded that the state also won the First Prize for ‘Best Adventure Tourism Destination’ and for holistic tourism development.

Chamoli observed that, under Dhami’s tenure, the toughest anti-copying law, Nakal Nirodhak Qanoon, was enacted to safeguard the future of youth. The copying mafia, which had entrenched itself in the state, has been dismantled, with over 200 criminals jailed. In this secure environment, more than 26,000 youth have secured government jobs.

Chamoli added that Uttarakhand has taken landmark steps in preserving its demography and strengthening its image by becoming the first state to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), the Anti- Mass Conversion Law, the Anti-Riot Law, and by acting against illegal religious encroachments. Pursuing its zero tolerance policy against corruption, the government has brought several senior bureaucrats, including IAS and IFS officers, as well as influential individuals, under the ambit of law.

He further stated that Mother Power and Statehood Activists have been accorded respect and empowerment with 30 per cent and 10 per cent reservation, respectively.

On this occasion, BJP State Media Incharge Manveer Chauhan stated that to present the account of development under the Double Engine Government, spokespersons are engaging with the media at all organisational district centres. They will highlight the extent of development achieved in Devbhoomi by the Central and State Governments, along with future possibilities, and showcase the historic, courageous, and innovative decisions that have set an example for other states.

Also present at the press conference were State Co-Media Incharge Rajendra Singh Negi and State Spokesperson Honey Pathak.
