Chief Electoral Officer holds meeting with political parties on assembly bypolls

Dehradun, 11 Jun: Chief Electoral Officer Dr BCRC Purushottam today held a meeting with political parties regarding the upcoming byelections on 2 assembly seats (Badrinath and Manglaur) of the state.

He expressed his gratitude to all the political parties for participating peacefully in the entire state during the General Lok Sabha Elections 2024. He expected similar cooperation from all political parties for a peaceful election process during the byelections as well. Purushottam shared with the representatives, information about the entire election process. He said that during the elections, along with the photo voter identity card, 12 other alternative documents can also be used by the voter for identification. He also shared with them relevant information regarding the Model Code of Conduct, which is now in force in districts Chamoli and Haridwar in view of the by-polls.

On this occasion, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Namami Bansal, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Sumukta Mishra, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer Mastu Das and representatives of all political parties were present.
