Dehradun, 4 Jan: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday attended a Felicitation Ceremony organised by the Arpit Foundation at his camp office, here, as the Chief Guest. On this occasion, the Chief Minister honoured officers and personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), appreciating their courage, dedication, and spirit of service to the nation.
The Chief Minister said that, for the past six decades, the Sashastra Seema Bal has played a crucial role in ensuring the nation’s security by working with indomitable courage and commitment in areas such as internal security, border management, counter-terrorism, counter-naxal operations, and disaster management. He stated that SSB personnel remain vigilant round the clock in protecting national borders and also make outstanding contributions in sports, social initiatives, and disaster relief operations.

The Chief Minister noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is rapidly moving towards self-reliance in the defence sector and has emerged as one of the leading defence equipment–exporting countries. He said that through Operation Sindoor, the world witnessed and appreciated the strength of India’s indigenous weapons. He further stated that the state government is continuously taking new decisions for the welfare of soldiers and paramilitary personnel and their families. The ex-gratia amount provided to the families of martyrs has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to RS 50 lakh, and the honorarium given to gallantry award recipients has also been enhanced.

The Chief Minister also said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, special efforts are being made to develop and empower border villages through the Vibrant Villages Programme. An extensive road network is being developed in border areas, which has not only improved connectivity in remote regions but has also strengthened tourism, trade, and strategic development. He added that the Prime Minister himself visits border areas, interacts with local residents and security forces, understands their issues, and takes decisive steps towards development.
On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, Niranjani Peethadhishwar Acharya Kailashanand Ji Maharaj, DIG, SSB, Sudhanshu Nautiyal, Honey Pathak from the Arpit Foundation, and SSB personnel were present.
