DEHRADUN, 8 Dec: The YWCA Dehradun Project organized a Christmas Celebration program at Spread Acres, 4 New Cantt Road Dehradun on 7th December 2018. Distinguished Guests present on this occasion were, Nisha Sharma, Tanya D’Souza, Dr. Amardeep, Dr. Maya Saxena , Preeti Mishra, Prashant David Nath (Treasurer YWCA), YWCA staff, volunteers and other people from the community. The event began with a prayer by Rev. P.J. Singh of Morrison Memorial Church.
The Welcome speech and a brief introduction were given by Anis Ur Rehman the Project Development Officer of YWCA of India about the Chief Guest Vinodhini Moses, National General Secretary, YWCA of India, New Delhi. It was followed by a Christmas song in English & Hindi.
The Students of the YWCA Vocational Training Courses performed a Hindi Christmas Song. Also the Kids of YWCA Badhte Kadam Project from Marginalized backgrounds performed a Nativity Skit and a group song. YWCA Staff and Volunteers also sang a Christmas Song (Hosanna).
The Christmas message was given by P. J. Singh from Morrison Memorial Church about the spirit of Christmas and the true meaning of Christmas in the lives of all human beings. The Chief Guest also addressed the gathering regarding the importance of Christmas.
Christmas gifts were distributed by Vinodhini Moses, Preeti Mishra and P. J. Singh to 15 Kids of ‘Badhte Kadam’ and 20 Elderly members of the Day Care Center and YWCA Staff members & Volunteers. The vote of thanks was given by Fidel Joseph, Project Manager Spread Acres.
