Climate change is raising alarms: Deepak Nagalia

Dehradun, 10 Jun: Speaking about the horrible conditions that may arise due to consistent climate changeDeepak Nagalia, president of The Doon Club said that if situation is not taken under control in time, big crisis will arise for humans and animals.
Addressing the gathering here in The Doon Club, Dehradun Nagalia said that the problem of increasing pollution and plastic in Uttarakhand has reached the mouths of the Himalayas, which has to be stopped immediately. The recent breaking of glaciers in the Chorabari Tal, Hemkund Sahib and Gaumukh areas is a matter of concern, he pointed out.
Underlining the important role of non-governmental organisations, like Satvika associated with other NGOs of the country, he said that in present scenario NGOs have a huge role in the development and progress of society, for which efficiency, service and transparency are necessary.

Organization’s secretary Haritika said that Himalayan Echoes is committed to the conservation and development of the environment, culture, heritage and economy of the Himalayas. All the records of the Chardham Yatra have been broken so far, it is a matter of happiness, but the government’s arrangements for roads, accommodation and food, etc., have gone awry, to which the government should pay immediate attention. He welcomed the construction of a road between Rishikesh to Devprayag in the direction of reviving the old Chardham walking routes.
