Dehradun, 23 Dec: On the occasion of National Farmers’ Day, today, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that 50 thousand polyhouses would be built in the state. He stated that these poly houses would be built with the help of NABARD. All these poly houses would be installed in Uttarakhand within the next two years.
Dhami further stated that, in order to increase the income of the farmers in the state, Mandua would be sold to the consumers through Public Distribution System (PDS) in four districts of the state, namely Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital.
He said that, to make it possible, 10,000 metric tonnes of Mandua would be purchased at minimum support price by the government directly from the farmers. This would increase the income of the farmers besides the fact that consumption of coarse grains would also get a boost in the state. The Chief Minister claimed that every possible effort is being made by the government to double the income of the farmers in the state.
