DEHRADUN, 20 Dec: An Uttarakhand Blood Donation Camp held at Pavilion Ground witnessed a large number of blood donors, here, today. The blood camp was organised with the help of AIIMS, Rishikesh, Doon Hospital and Mahant Indiresh Hospital.
Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was also present at the venue and was thrilled to see so many people donating blood on the occasion of his birthday. Rawat also cut a cake and people wished him a healthy and long life.
There were 55 lucky draw prizes for the first 500 donors. The first, second and third prizes were bagged by Ishan Sadana, Abhinav Arora and Umesh Kumar, respectively. Apart from this, gifts were also given to differently-abled children.
Looking at such a huge turnaround of blood donors, Amit Rawat said, ‘I’ve never seen so much excitement in people for blood donation. It is my pleasure that I could manage this blood donation and give back something to the society from what they have given me.’
Others present at the venue were MLA Ganesh Joshi, Ranjit Bhandari, Aditya Chauhan and PC Kushwaha.
