Dehradun, 6 Jul: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today visited the Corbett National Park, where he experienced the thrill and wonder of a jungle safari. He described the experience as not only a chance to witness the beauty of nature but also an opportunity to connect deeply with the priceless heritage of biodiversity and the natural world.

The Chief Minister stated that, thanks to the continuous efforts of the state government, jungle safari tourism in Uttarakhand has gained fresh recognition. A large number of tourists from across the country and abroad are now visiting the state, significantly boosting the tourism-based economy and creating new avenues for self-employment and livelihood for local residents.

On this occasion, more than 1,000 saplings were planted under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (A Tree in the Name of Mother) campaign, with support from the Forest Department, local communities, and environmental enthusiasts. The Chief Minister said this campaign is not just a plantation drive, but a heartfelt tribute to motherhood and nature.

He also met with the Forest Department team and appreciated their dedicated efforts toward the protection of forests and wildlife. He emphasised that their commitment is vital to preserving the state’s greenery and rich biodiversity.
