Dehradun, 11 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision announced today which has upheld the abrogation of Article 370 from the Constitution by the Union Government. Welcoming the decision, the CM said that the decision given by the Supreme Court is approval of the decision taken by the Central Government in the national interest. He said that the decision would pave the way for rapid and for overall development of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. The Chief Minister said that the historic work of doing away with Article 370 from Jammu & Kashmir was undertaken to maintain the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah need to be lauded for this historic move and the Supreme Court has justifiably upheld the Centre’s action in this regard.
The Chief Minister said that with this historic decision, the people of Jammu & Kashmir will be able to join the mainstream of the country and with the promotion of tourism in the state, investment would increase and new vistas of development opened in every sector in the state.
