Dehradun, 31 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami today chaired a high-level meeting at his official residence regarding new year celebrations in the state. During the meeting, he directed officials to pay special attention to security arrangements and traffic management due to the increase in the number of tourists arriving for the New Year celebrations.
The CM instructed officials to implement effective traffic management to prevent traffic jams and accidents during the New Year celebrations. He instructed that additional police force be deployed to streamline traffic at tourist places. The deployment of police should also be increased to ensure security at public places and major roads at night, to prevent any untoward incidents. Dhami also ordered strict action against those who drive drunk, drive at high speed, and violate other traffic rules. He emphasised the use of technical measures to the maximum extent to monitor incidents related to traffic and security arrangements.
Principal Secretary RK Sudhanshu, Secretary R Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary Vinay Shankar Pandey, Additional Director General of Police (ADG) AP Anshuman, and Vice Chairman, MDDA, Banshidhar Tiwari were among those present at the meeting.
