Dehradun, 20 Dec: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami lent a patient ear to the problems put forward by the SSB Guerrilla volunteers at the Secretariat, here today. The Guerrilla volunteers from different districts were connected on the virtual basis for this meeting. In the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed the officials that efforts should be made to connect the trained guerrilla volunteers with livelihood opportunities through various departments. He said that the problems of guerrilla volunteers should be solved quickly. He said that the Central Government will also be requested to send a proposal for help for guerrilla trainees and trainers.
The Chief Minister directed the officers to consider and take action on providing livelihood opportunities to the trained Guerilla volunteers under the Vibrant Village Programme and as security personnel in private security agencies, as trainers in Home Guards, as forest fire watchers, as village watchmen under the Police Department and for various works in the Public Works Department (PWD) and in various schemes of the Forest Department and in other areas. Attention should be paid to how the services of these volunteers can be availed. The Chief Minister instructed Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi that whatever action can be taken in this direction by the departments concerned to connect the trained guerrilla volunteers of the state with livelihood and so that the state can also get the benefit of their training. The meetings in this respect should be held regularly.
In the meeting, Additional Chief Secretaries Radha Raturi, Anand Vardhan, DGP Abhinav Kumar, Commandant General Home Guard Kewal Khurana, DIG/Additional Secretary Home Nivedita Kukreti, Additional Secretaries Vineet Kumar, Lalit Mohan Rayal, Attar Singh, officers from various departments concerned were physically present while the trained guerilla volunteers were present on virtual basis.
