Dehradun, 23 May: Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was clearly pleased with the 5-0 win in Uttarakhand, today. He declared it a victory, once again, for democracy. The people had supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his development policies. This had deeply disturbed the opposition.
The CM thanked the people for the mandate, pointing out that they had renewed their trust in PM Modi. The Union Government had done work in the past five years that was unprecedented. Many development schemes had been given to Uttarakhand. He also took to task the opposition for questioning the EVMs and said such a reaction was expected. The EVMs had made elections a transparent process, which brought a halt to ills like booth capturing. The Congress was merely refusing to take responsibility for its mistakes. It never failed, however, to accept the mandate when EVMs worked for it. Questions ought not to be raised against them.
