DEHRADUN, 6 Mar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, today, inaugurated the flights of Alliance Air that will be operating between Dehradun and Ayodhya; Dehradun and Amritsar; and Dehradun[1]Pantnagar-Varanasi. On this occasion, he lit the ceremonial lamp and even cut a cake before flagging off the flight from Dehradun to Ayodhya at a function held at Jolly Grant Airport, here. While addressing those present on the occasion, the Chief Minister said it is the endeavour of the government to work towards ensuring that the travel of the people within the state and from the state across the country is made convenient, simple and easy.
He said that, with better air, road and rail connectivity, the people from across the country should be able to easily travel to different parts of Uttarakhand. Continuous efforts are being made in this regard.
Referring to air services, the Chief Minister said that, before this, air services from Dehradun to Pithoragarh and from Pithoragarh to Dehradun were launched and, also, Heli services from Haldwani to Champawat, Munsiyari and Pithoragarh. Referring to the flights starting today, he said that it was a very auspicious day, under which air services have been started between Dehradun-Ayodhya, Dehradun-Amritsar, Dehradun[1]Pantnagar-Varanasi.
The Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that, under his leadership and tenure, there has been unprecedented progress in every sector, including that of air services.
The CM also met and spoke to the passengers travelling to Ayodhya or other places by these air services amid chants of Jai Shri Ram and wished them a happy Mangal Yatra.
Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Vardhan, Secretary Sachin Kurve, Additional Secretary C Ravi Shankar, Additional Chief Executive Officer, UCADA, Dayanand Saraswati, Harish Kothari and other officers concerned were among those present on the occasion.
