DEHRADUN, 10 April: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami is among those who have condoled the passing away of Prahlad Mehra. In a social media post, Dhami said that demise of the state’s famous folk singer, Prahlad Mehra, is an irreparable loss to the folk music world.
The CM added that Prahlad did the unforgettable work of ensuring greater recognition to the native culture of the state at the global stage through folk music. Dhami further stated that the songs sung by Mahara will always illuminate the culture of Devbhoomi. Dhami also prayed to God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and for strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense suffering.
Many dignitaries and artists associated with the cultural world have expressed shock and grief over his sudden demise. Former Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar MP Ajay Bhatt, folk singers Upreti Sisters are among those who have expressed grief over the demise of Mehra.
