CM pays tribute to Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya

DEHRADUN, 25 Dec: Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat garlanded the statue of Pt Madan Mohan Malaviya on his 157 birth anniversary at Hindu National College at Kanwali Road, here, on Tuesday.
Rawat said that Malaviya was the only person who was honoured with the title of ‘Mahamana’. He was a renowned scholar of Sanskrit language and working hard was the aim of his life. He worked tirelessly for the freedom of the country. Through efforts in journalism, legal profession and social reforms, he inspired the youth to participate in the freedom struggle. Malaviya also established Banaras Hindu University.
He further said that Malaviya dedicated his life to promoting his mother tongue and serving the nation, setting up Banaras Hindu University to educate the youth and to prepare them the service of the country.
Also present on the occasion was President of Dehradun Mahamana Mission, Dr Shrikant Chandola, along with Balkrishan Jaiswal, Anil Goyal, Vidhu Gairola and others.
