CM seeks help of Swiss Experts to train U’khand youth in hospitality

Dehradun, 18 Apr: A delegation led by Claudio Raccnello, Executive Director of the Swiss Education Group, called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his official residence, here, today. On this occasion, discussions were held regarding training in the tourism and hospitality sector for the local youth.

The Chief Minister noted that the state has immense potential in the field of tourism. He said that, to realise the potential, there is a need to promote skills among the youth here. He urged the Swiss delegation to look for possibilities of training the local youth in the tourism and hospitality activities by arranging some experts and trainers from Switzerland. The CM said that necessary resources for training in the state would be provided by the government in case this happens. By ensuring good facilities for certificate courses to the youth, their skills would get a significant boost.

The Chief Minister added that, under the National Education Policy-2020, help should also be taken from the Swiss Education Group for better vocational courses for class 11 and 12 students in the state. A detailed plan should be made for better vocational education to the students. Attention should be paid to promoting tourism as well as adventure activities in the state. The Chief Minister said that, if any delegation from Switzerland wishes to come to promote the activities of tourism, education and adventure tourism in the state, they would be provided full cooperation by the government in Uttarakhand.

Claudio Raccnello, Executive Director of the Swiss Education Group, said there is a lot of potential for spiritual experts from Uttarakhand to work in the field of spiritual activity in Switzerland. If experts in this field from Uttarakhand work in centres based on spiritual activities there, then a lot of collaborative work is possible between the two countries.  He said that whatever cooperation will be sought from Switzerland by the Uttarakhand Government, all possible efforts will be made to provide it.

Swami Abhay Das, Surya Pratap Singh, Secretaries Shailesh Bagoli, Ravinath Raman, Sachin Kurve, Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey and Director General of Education, Banshidhar Tiwari were present on the occasion.
