Dehradun, 28 Sep: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami spoke with the Secretary, Disaster Management, over the phone today regarding trekkers stranded due to snowfall in the high Himalayan region of Uttarkashi and received detailed information about the relief and rescue operations.
The Chief Minister directed that the safe return of all trekkers and porters who had gone to the high Himalayan regions for trekking and mountaineering be ensured as a top priority. He urged that all necessary resources be effectively utilised in relief and rescue operations to ensure everyone’s safety.
The Chief Minister directed that tourists who had visited the affected areas be safely transported to their destinations, along with ensuring adequate arrangements for medical assistance, food, and other essential amenities.
The Chief Minister stated that the safety of every pilgrim and tourist visiting Uttarakhand is the state government’s top priority. In view of the adverse weather conditions, the concerned departments should work with utmost vigilance and coordination.
