Dehradun, 1 Jun: Uttarakhand Congress has intensified preparations for the proposed Uttarakhand visit of Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on 4 and 5 June. It has set up a control room at the Congress Bhawan in Dehradun. The control room today formally began operations. It has begun functioning under the leadership of State General Secretary and Control Room In-charge Naveen Joshi, with extensive coordination efforts being undertaken to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit. It may also be pointed here that senior Congress leader and leader in charge of the state Congress in Uttarakhand, Kumari Selja is personally monitoring the preparations for Rahul Gandhi’s visit.
Naveen Joshi and the entire Control Room team have contacted senior Congress leaders, district and metropolitan presidents, Assembly constituency in-charges and key organisational office-bearers across the state over the telephone to review preparations for Rahul Gandhi’s programmes and provide necessary directions. Joshi also called upon party leaders and workers to dedicate themselves fully towards making the visit historic and successful.
Speaking to the media from the control room, Joshi said Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Uttarakhand would infuse fresh enthusiasm and energy among Congress workers across the state. He said the Control Room was monitoring and coordinating programmes throughout Uttarakhand and every effort was being made to ensure that all arrangements are executed smoothly while timely information continue to reach party workers.
Those present at the Control Room meeting included Rajendra Bhandari, General Secretary Manish Nagpal, Akhilesh Uniyal, Suleman Ali, Jitendra Bisht and Pritam Singh Arya. All members expressed their commitment to actively discharge their responsibilities and work towards the success of the visit.
The Control Room will continuously coordinate information, programmes and arrangements related to Rahul Gandhi’s visit so that Congress workers and members of the public across the state receive timely updates and necessary information.
It may be recalled that the PCC has been making elaborate preparations for Rahul Gandhi’s proposed visit. State Congress in-charge Kumari Selja has also reached Dehradun and is personally monitoring arrangements for his proposed engagements in Almora, Pauri and Dehradun.
During Rahul Gandhi’s proposed tour of both Garhwal and Kumaon regions, the Control Room will closely monitor all programmes and maintain coordination with party functionaries. The Congress leaders and workers can obtain information regarding the visit through the telephone numbers issued by the Control Room and its designated members.
Pradesh Congress Committee President Ganesh Godiyal has expressed confidence that all the members associated with the Control Room will discharge their responsibilities with dedication and contribute towards making Rahul Gandhi’s programme a success.
Ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s visit, Kumari Selja has taken charge of overseeing preparations on the ground. She is personally monitoring arrangements related to Rahul Gandhi’s proposed rally in Almora, the ex-servicemen’s conference scheduled at Ramlila Ground in Pauri and the public interaction programmes proposed in Dehradun.
Kumari Selja has described the visit as highly significant and said it reflected Rahul Gandhi’s continued commitment to standing with the people of Uttarakhand in both their joys and difficulties. She said he has consistently raised issues concerning Uttarakhand on priority and that his visit would energise Congress workers across the state. She claimed that this renewed enthusiasm among party workers would strengthen the Congress organisation and help it prepare effectively for the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections.
