Dehradun 9 May: BJP today termed Congress leader Sam Pitroda’s recent statement as racist, casteist and apartheidic and a conspiracy of Congress to divide the country. Addressing a press conference here today, BJP’s State spokesperson Suresh Joshi alleged that the Congress party which had a foreign origin is now trying to insult 140 crore Indians by calling them of foreign origin. It may be recalled that recently on a TV debate, President of Overseas Congress and a mentor to senior Party leader Rahul Gandhi, Sam Pitroda had claimed that the North Indians were white, East Indians were Chinese, Western Indians were Arabic and South Indians were of African origin.
Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, Suresh Joshi strongly condemned the statement of family advisor to the Gandhi family and Overseas Congress President Sam Pitroda, calling it anti-national. Joshi claimed that this statement given by Pitroda regarding the diversity and integrity of India is apartheid, racist and is aimed to divide the society. Joshi also alleged that the Congress which had led by foreigners in the beginning is conspiring to claim that 140 crore Indians had diverse foreign origin. The BJP Spokesperson claimed that the Congress has never accepted India as a country, and it was due to herculean efforts of one nationalist Sardar Patel that all the states and princely states were brought under one flag of India. He reminded that the responsibity of Kashmir was taken by the then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru but he failed to unite it with India in the same manner as the other states. He encouraged cutting of Kashmir from rest of India by imposing Article 370 with a separate constitution.
Joshi reminded that Congress due to its narrow political ambition had agreed to partition of India and did not bother to prevent creation of POK and also ceded a large part of the country to China and even gave one island of strategic importance to Sri Lanka. Even the latest statement of Pitroda is a clear indication of Congress’s intention to divide the society on racial lines and hand over the reigns of the county to foreign powers. As the Lok Sabha elections are progressing, the masks are being removed from the face of Congress one after the other, Joshi claimed. This is an issue of politics but a battle between nationalist indigenous thinking and a foreign mentality.
The BJP leader sarcastically remarked that the X-ray that Rahul Gandhi promises to conduct of the society is perfectly in line with Sam Pitroda’s statement. The Congress wants to throw the countrymen into the fire of apartheid and racism by dividing the countrymen into East, West, North and South on the basis of colour and external appearance.
He advised that instead of seeing the picture of the country through X-ray, Congress should remove the foreign glasses from its mind so that it can realise that the entire country is one. Joshi stressed that India is full of diversity but not different ethnicities. Indians may look different but the same blood runs in the veins of 140 crores of them. This statement of the Congress leader an insult to the diversity of the country. He demanded that the National President of Congress party should immediately apologise publicly for this thinking of his party.
BJP’s State Media In charge Manveer Chauhan, Co Media In charge Rajendra Negi and spokesperson Sunita Vidyarthi were among those present on the occasion.
