Dehradun, 6 Sep: With a view to keeping the guard up in respect of the Covid pandemic, the curfew has been further extended for another week till the morning of 14 September in Uttarakhand.
It may be recalled that the period of Covid curfew currently in force is ending on 7 September at 6 a.m. Interestingly, most activities are permitted during the curfew in the state and only nominal restrictions are in force.
The markets are opening six days a week, shopping malls, multiplexes, cinema halls, etc., have already been allowed to open with 50 percent capacity. Permission has also already been given to open educational and technical institutions. At the same time, all government, non-government offices, industries, etc., are open with full capacity, while the movement within the state is unrestricted.
However, among the restrictions still in force are the continued night curfew and the condition on production of a negative RTPCR test report by those coming from other states. Even those coming from the other states are exempted from the requirement of a negative RTPCR test report provided they have already been vaccinated with both the doses of Corona vaccine at least 15 days before the arrival. Meanwhile, the situation is presently under control in view of the corona infection in the state. It appears the government does not wish to let its guard down in view of the possibility of a third wave in the state.
